Need adventuers to figure out what past adventures screwed up

Synopsis
Adventurers met in Unity, met the archmage Kya, and went to investigate the abyss created in an earlier game. They did a ton of research, and ended up finding teleportation circles surrounding the city, which post game became activated, teleporting the entire city of Unity to Gaea
